The first Clàsico

Barça and Madrid will start the series of scheduled ‘Clásicos’ with Barça’s visit to the Santiago Bernabeu, on the 32nd league matchday. The league championship is at stake. Guardiola’s team will go there with an eight point lead over Madrid, their most immediate follower. It is, therefore, an excellent opportunity to stay on course for the first of three competitions that they’re aiming for.

The Cup, the second game, will be decided next Wednesday in Valencia. The same protagonists, Barça and Madrid, will be there. So, two decisive ‘Clásicos’ will be played just four days apart.

Both teams will have had Champions League commitments this week. Barça beat Shakhtar 1-0, and qualified for the semifinals. A win that reinforces the moral of the team before the key stretch of the season.

- On Saturday, Barça will not be alone at the Bernabeu in the league derby, as 500 fans will accompany the team and will cheer them on from the 4th amphitheatre of the Madrid stadium.
